| The Star in traditional Tarot is a symbol of hope. | In times of darkness, we sometimes feel that things are hopeless and that we are alone. I've been through this many times. This is wh the Star is perhaps one of my favorite cards in the tarot deck. First off, there is the star. It is the symbol of hope that glimmers in the darkness even if we can't see it. If you notice (like in the picture to the right), there is also a woman in this image. In this image it shows her pointing to the star. A sort of guidance that points to something that we might otherwise miss since we are so enthralled in our own misery. In other renditions she is also seen dipping cups in the water. In this one she seems to be coming out of the water. Not only is this person here to show us that there is hope. She can also relate and touch our emotional side. She can empathize, comfort, and guide. Not only that, but since she can relate and empathize, she can go through whatever pain with us (another possible reason for her touching the water). We, and this website itself, have been through many dark times. There are many out there as well. What we want to do is act much like the woman within the Star. We've been there, done that, and have the bumper sticker. Though the situation may be different, the idea is still similar. We would like to be there for you. I have three seperate methods that will be intertwined with this website in order to do this: Support, Guidance, and Distraction.
Support: Perhaps one of the big things in this site, the idea that we are here for you and that you don't have to go through it alone. Why? Because we are here. We'll listen and we'll care. In addition, there will be (hopefully) other people on the site who too can listen and care. This goes along with that idea of "Community."
Guidance: If nothing else, then we can certainly point at that tiny speck of light in the night sky, the tiny bit of hope. I know that me and my friends have been through a lot despite our young age, and as time goes on new people could join this site with different views and different experiences or more expertise. Together as a community, we can help guide you to a good solution or at least toward the idea of hope. But remember, that we are not professionals.
Distraction: Sometimes we need something to distract us. Something to calm our nerves and worries. This site will try and build that through contests, videos, the forums, and who knows what other fund ideas we might come up with. Most of the the "distraction" things are still under construction...so, we could certainly use help on this one.
Some things that come with the Shadow Forest:
- Member Profiles so you can make friends and create a personal "home" for yourself in the forest
- Forums where you can communicate with other people (gotta make some new forums to suit the website)
- Support Groups for support in certain things (but might need people to start these groups)
- Constant news on the site and possibly another blog added soon that will talk about the stuff of the website
- More will be coming so keep coming for updates
Disclaimer: We are not professionals and we don't have degrees. Our experience in this stuff is exactly that. Our Experience. Though we've helped many, if what you need is a professional, don't think that we can replace them because we can't (we might refer you to see one though if you need it). Other Useful Info: Is Shadow Forest Midnight a "religious" site?
